Welcome to Global Observations (GO !)  

The need for detailed, repeated, and global scale observations of the chemical composition of the atmosphere is driven by the quest for better understanding the multitude of chemical and physical processes, including long range transport, in the earth’s atmosphere. Beside this, we need to know the atmosphere’s composition in sufficient detail, and follow and understand its changes.

Models of chemistry and transport become increasingly powerful, which, at least for the foreseeable future, means that we need more detailed observations in order to verify their ever refined power of simulating and predicting the real atmosphere.
